Literacy continues at Cameron Street School!

Welcome to 2012! The school year is flying by!

Some important upcoming dates to remember:
All students in grades 4 to 8 have been working on a speech to present in class. Students chosen to present their speeches in the gym will be judged on February 2, by a panel of judges. The Legion competition is on the following Sunday afternoon.

Many students have been invited and accepted the challenge of reading Blue Spruce, Silver Birch Express, Silver Birch and Red Maple Books. The programmes are available to our students thanks to the funding from our School Council.
Participating students who read a minimum of 5 books, will be able to vote for their favorite Canadian author in March. Authors receive their awards according to the most votes from student readers.

Our second Scholastic Book Fair will be February 29 to March 2nd. This is a great opportunity to stock up on gifts, or to purchase many reasonably priced favorites! Your support of our book fairs in the past have allowed us to continue to purchase books to renew our Cameron Street library and (Novel for Classrooms) Collection. We usually (depending upon sales) make a 60 % profit for buying Scholastic Books. Thanks to all who purchase!
